Send a builder to #WinForNC

Now is a time to roll up our sleeves, and get to work to #WinForNC. COVID-19 has created significant economic challenges for our community. The last thing the General Assembly needs is more career politicians. It needs leaders who know how to build careers and rebuild an economy. I'm a builder. Whether it's building a home, building a business, or building a local economy, I know what it takes to work hard and build opportunity from the ground up. And that's why I'm running. I want to build better lives and economic opportunities for businesses, families, and community members across the 7th NC House District. To help me #WinForNC visit www.matthewwinslow.com.

Matt Winslow is a native North Carolinian from the northeastern part of our great state. His first paid job at sixteen years old was cleaning out hog houses, as the grandson of a multi-generational farmer, it was something he felt qualified to do. Born to a teen mom, Matt knows what it’s like to depend on the government for basic needs, but he also saw how hard his mother worked to be able to eventually support her family without assistance.  That kind of upbringing made him not only compassionate for others, but it drove him to overcome adversity.

As a first-generation college student, Matt utilized student loans, several jobs, and grants to pay his way through college. He graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in Urban and Regional Planning and Development. Later he used his background as a county planning and inspections director to start a career in home building and development. As a small business owner, he champions present and future entrepreneurs by chairing The Committee of 100, serving on the Economic Development Committee and the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce boards in order to stimulate growth and provide opportunities for businesses to flourish. Matt is also a member of the Master Layout Planning Committee for the Triangle North Regional Airport and the Comprehensive Development Plan Steering Committee.
